Recognising this ever increasing demand, having acquired the Cos Phi range of Intelligent Power Distribution solutions, Elcom added the Intelligent or Smart PDUs or Power Strips to its range of Basic Power Distribution Units (PDU) business in the year 2014. We became the first Indian company to venture into the Power Distribution and Management market with a keen objective to offer Intelligent PDUs to Data Centers. Basic Power Distribution Units:

Elcom’s Basic PDUs are easy to use and plug-in. These devices are capable of supplying electric power to all IT devices as well as Telecom infrastructure. It has a wide range of input connections depending upon your power consumption. We also provide a wide range of output connections catering to your current IT infrastructure. A Single Phase Rack Mount and a Three Phase Rack Mount is available in either a horizontal (1U, 2U)or a vertical mount (0U) as per your needs.

A basic PDU distributes electric power to server, storage devices and networking equipment located within racks and cabinets in a data centre. A stable and reliable power distribution unit ensures business continuity.Various configuration can be made with type of mounting (Horizontal, Vertical), type of inlets and Outlets (IEC, NEMA, Indian, Universal etc), type of protections (RFI/EMI Filters, MCB’s, Fuse), Switches (Illuminated, non-illuminated), Indicators and Cord Length.

Intelligent PDUs

An Intelligent PDU or known as iPDU in short, comes with advanced features like power metering, environment monitoring , remote outlet control. It can be easily integrated with all available building and energy management systems. It has the capability to monitor all electrical parameters such as Voltage, Current, Active, Reactive and Apparent Power, Frequency and Power Factor of connected load, by using supervisory software using MODBUS over TCP/IP, via web browser using HTTP, supports FTP, DHCP, SNMP and Telnet protocols. It also allows user to switch on or off a particular outlet or equipment remotely. Trend analytics of all these parameters can be provided employing Elcom’s ‘Energy & Environment Management Software’ E-DCIM.

Form factor of 0U and 1U is available for all the variants. Non-standard dimensions or customized requirements can be supported on request.

Power Measurement Device

Elcom’s Branch Monitoring Solution consists of intelligent Power Measurement Device (PMD) bundled up with high quality current transformers to do complete branch monitoring of a Rack or floor mounted PDU.

Power Measurement Device is a reliable source for monitoring energy consumption of various branch circuits in Data Centre. It is an easy to use and easy to install as it is a plug-and-play device. It can be integrated with a wide range of current transformers depending on power consumption.

Power Measurement Device can be installed without disturbing the continuity of operation in a Data Center, which makes it a preferred choice of the IT administrators for monitoring power consumption of various Branch Circuits. Branch Monitoring can be introduced for single phase and three phase circuits and with a range of channels starting from 1 channel to up to 36 channels.

PMD

The power can be monitored locally and remotely depending on the application and user can set parameters which he wants to monitor which when breached send a automated message to the user.

Temperature and Humidity Sensors

A significant temperature change could be disastrous for a data center or server room due to the sensitivity of server equipment and thus maintaining a stable temperature is critical to IT system reliability. Elcom offers a reliable Temperature Sensor which can be connected to the iPDU for monitoring temperature round the clock. These sensors should be placed on individual racks to measure the heat generated by equipment and near the vents of the air-conditioning system to measure the overall efficiency.

Elcom’s E-DCIM Software enables users to monitor their IPDUs. It is a platform that facilitates the data center operator monitor the Energy consumption and other parameters like Temperature and Humidity. Monitoring can be done locally or remotely depending on your application and user can also configure various parameters like response timeout and delay between polls and can also set alarms for breach of set threshold values which come to you in the form of mail notification (SMTP based) or SNMP traps.
